If you think that Milan is nothing but grey skyscrapers, then think again.
Milan is also green. Or, at least, it is such from May 13th to May 15th, the days in which
Green City Milano is held.
During this long weekend associations, authorities and laboratories will work together to create events, walks and debates both educational and entertaining. There’s only one aim: to make the city greener and more participatory.
Multiple initiatives scattered throughout the city all joined by a same goal.
Chiara Bisconti, Green councillor for the City of Milan, has explained it to us: the aim is to “promote a culture of change that is tangible throughout the year, for the benefit of our city as well as a newfound society.”
The love and respect for the environment must indeed become a way to revolutionize and rethink society.
Green City Milano 2016 aims at highlighting the Milanese reality that are taking care of the green areas of the city as well as making them accessible to any individual.
This year the event has been enriched with a new feature, that is to say a theme that connects all the initiatives together. The title is “Nature enters the city” and aims at pointing out the importance of the green spaces that are unfolded when getting lost in the alleys: those green spaces that not everyone is lucky enough to know. This is why private citizens will open their doors to their courtyards and their roofs to let visitors admire the biodiversity of the Milanese panorama.
A Yoga session welcomes the event on Friday 13, at 13.00 in almost every park of the city: start your weekend full of nature by awakening your muscles!
The initiatives follow one another frantically from morning to night.
