Cross a threshold. Move in the shadows, making sure not to stumble into the clients: some of them will be sipping a cocktail; others will be in the front row, moving their heads to the rhythm of music that is still to be tuned.
In front of you, microphones and instruments that will soon come to life.
This is the scenario you will meet when entering one of the clubs in Milan which host concerts and performances of live music. They’re not large clubs or theaters, but rather cozy and intimate spaces that invite you to pay attention to the notes and the words, without getting lost in the bustle of the crowd.

In Milan, there are many clubs that meet the characteristics we have outlined above.
If you fancy jazz music, we’re about to suggest you a place you’ll surely enjoy.
It’s the Blue Note, located in the Isola district, in Via Pietro Borsieri 37. Its rich schedule of jazz events has made it famous all over Milan. Six days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday, the Blue Note hosts bands and singers who perform twice, at 21.00 and at 23.00 (23:30 at weekends). Between a piece and the other, you can enjoy one of the 200 cocktails on the list.
If you prefer the warm tunes of blues, you just have to get to the Hangar Bicocca. Nearby, in fact, in Via Sant’Uguzzone 26, there is the Blues House, a place where musicians and tribute bands alternate on the weekends.

The Fermento Art’n Pub is another place specialized in live music that is not far away from the previous twos. It is located in Via Camillo Ugoni 18 and it does not look like a place made for concerts. Originally it’s a brewery and, in fact, it also owns a beer known as Black Queen, a dark lager with an intense flavor. This is the pub side of the Fermento Art’n Pub. The art side is devoted to the performances of jazz, blues and rock artists that take place on a dark wood stage and that fill the atmosphere with songs and interpretations.

Similar to the Fermento Art’n Pub, La Buca di San Vincenzo is another cozy and intimate space where you’ll be able to listen to interesting music.
Upon entering, you will find low lights illuminating comfortable sofas and armchairs. The bartender behind the bar will serve you with the best local spirits. La Buca defines itself as a jazz club, but it is different than the other places we have suggested to you. Indeed, it is the ideal place where to listen to a concert as if you were sitting in a friend’s living room. Monday is dedicated to jazz, Thursdays to blues.
Finally, in the south of Milan, a bit far from the center but still easy to reach, there is a place that intrigues immediately by simply hearing its name. It’s the Salumeria della Musica, literally the Music Deli. Where once golden necklaces where produced, today music is played. The venue has left some of the original spaces and machineries intact and six days a week you can listen to
rock music, songwriting and jazz and, in the meantime, taste one of the salumi and formaggi platter!
