The Duomo: Milan's symbol, built on the will of Gian Galeazzo Visconti in 1386, on the place where two paleochristian churches were formerly found. It is a huge building and one of the biggest churches in the world. A fine example of Gothic architecture, beautiful and magnificent the Duomo Milan is only two stops from the Windsor Hotel or a 20 minute walk. Entrance inside the Duomo is free although one must be formally dressed i.e. no shorts or sleeveless shirts. Access to the rooftop is by elevator and a small fee is payable - for Duomo opening times please see our concierge.
