| This is the recipe of “Honey
and Almonds Chestnut-Cake”, a typical Italian autumnal
cake Ingredients for 8 people:
chestnut flour: gr. 500
sliced almonds: gr. 30
acacia honey-olive oil-salt
fat content: 258 k. Calories per portion
Time: about 30 minutes
Mix in a bowl the chestnut flour with 300 ml. of
cold water, mixing well in order to break up the lumps: you should
obtain a fluid batter, like that of the crepes. Add a pinch of salt.
Lightly grease a large and low baking-pan. Pour the batter in. Put
it into the oven at 180 C° for 15 min.
Take it out of the oven and while the oven is still
hot, toast the almonds on it for a few minutes. Lightly and uniformly
brush the honey over the cake surface. If honey is too thick, warm
it up in water-bath.
Finally sprinkle the dessert with the toasted almonds
and serve it while it is still warm.
We recommend using a plain oil, because the chestnut-cake
has a unique flavour.
